The original 13-inch MacBook incorporates either a 2.0 GHz or a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. When the model was upgraded to "Pro" status in 2009, the Intel Core 2 Duo processor became available in 2.26 GHz or 2.53 GHz form. The A1278 MacBook Pros introduced in 2010 offered a 2.4 GHz or 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. In 2011, the Intel Core 2 Duo processors were replaced with 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 processors or 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7 processors. Both models include Intel's dual-core version of these processors.
